A graduate of Business Administration and Masters Business Administration in Management from Federal Polytechnic, Auchi and Enugu State University of Science and Technology, Enugu respectively. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) as well as Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and currently a member of the Governing Council. She is also a Member National Institute (mni) of National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) Kuru,
She is an astute Tax Administrator who served as a Director in various capacities in Federal Inland Revenue Services (FIRS), a representative of FIRS on the Board of Nigerian Accounting Standards Board (NASB) now Financial Reporting Council (FRCN), management Committee of the Commonwealth Association of Tax Administrator (CATA), Organisation for Economic co-operation and Development (OECD), Global Forum on Transparency and Exchange of Information for Tax.
Sofuratu was Chairman of the 2010 Organising Committee of Commonwealth Association of Tax Administrator Conference (CATA) as well as the Forum of VAT Administrators in Africa (VADA) 2010. She is a recipient of several awards and certificate of recognitions for are selfless service and dedication.
